This was painted last summer, 2008. The painting was done near Stowe, Vermont. The scene was painted along Randolph Road on a late morning on a cloudy day. A house can be seen on the left (and the dirt road) and the scene is surrounded by the Green Mountains of Vermont. Dramatic clouds are in the sky and two horses can be seen grazing in the field. The horses were jotted in on site in a few strokes and later refined in the studio.
