This was painted in the fall (autumn) of 2007 in upstate New York. It was painted not in, but near the vicinity of Beacon, New York, right off of Highway 84, in a fairly remote, secluded area, where I could concentrate without the distraction of cars too many cars going by. I was focusing on the richness of fall color against the foil of the "Highland" mountains of the Hudson Valley / Hudson River.
