Oil - 14 x 18"
I was very happy to be outside in the spring of 2002 in Central Park, where I call home, in New York city after a year of recuperating from treatment for "the big C". Hopefully some of that joy can be felt in this painting. These wonderful cherry trees in blossom are found in the area near what is called "The Mall", you can see the fence leading through the mall as well as the fence in the foreground dividing the street and sidewalk. There are two trees which create a dance, the one in glory and his neighbor to the side which may have suffered some tragedy in prior days creeps along the ground toward the other, as if seeking strength from his stronger neighbor (I don't know why I've denoted the trees as "he", they could just as easily be "she".)
