This was painted last summer (2008). The color is rich (can't be fully appreciated in the reproduction); the painting's bravura and brushwork retains its vitality upon the Belgian linen canvas.
It was painted in the vicinity of Trapp Lodge in Stowe, Vermont. The line of trees in the foreground is losing out the afternoon light with the exception of at ree closer forward in space which catches the last rays of the day.
