This was painted at Peach Lake this past spring of 2008. It's a morning painting with morning light. The painting has a feeling of spring, of newness, of brightness, of the cheerfulness that spring brings. In the trees and foliage there is a heavy, rich use of impastoes applied here and there with a palette knife in striving to get the richness of color.
