This was painted this past month of June on the north-western part of Lake St. Catharine in Wells, Vermont. I strove to capture the light of the moment, the late afternoon light, in simple strokes put down quickly, simply and cleanly. The painting shows a peninsula jutting out upon the lake where a house and grove of pine trees is situated, reflecting in a somewhat muted fashion upon the lake.
